Suppose you want to offer the feed to your own exercise blog or to a specific category in your blog. A text widget needs to be created to display the RSS link.
If you want to show your feed link:
- Go to Appearance -> Widgets
- Add a Text Widget to your sidebar
- Open it by clicking the blue lines
- Type the following:
<a href=”http://your-blog-name.wordpress.com/feed”><img src=”image-location” /></a>
- Save the changes
Do not copy and paste the link above! Write it out properly.
Here is a favorite small RSS icon to link (more available if you follow the WordPress Documentation link at the bottom of this post):

That will add a link to your feed.
Be sure to add the text link to your sidebar and test the link. The link will not work in some browsers (especially Safari) if your blog is protected from public view. If your blog is blocked from view, you will get the following error message in Safari when trying to view the feed link:
Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “feed://exercisereports.wordpress.com/feed/”. The error was: “The feed could not be loaded because the content is not in a known feed format.” (PubSub:2) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message

Exercisereports.com uses Snap.com javascripts which causes pop-up mini web pages to appear that correspond to the outside link that is rolled over by the mouse, trackball or trackpad.
Using Firefox 2.0.0.11 or greater, the user has the ability to disable or enable the context popups. The default setting is to disable the popup miniweb pages or context menus. Some people find the popup mini-webpages very useful because they can see the page without actually committing to going to the outside website, and then decide if they want to move on to the other website. Others find the unexpected pop-ups annoying and distracting.
Here are the instructions for changing the settings.
Go to Firefox Preferences Menu
Click on the Content Tab
If you want to allow the popups …
Enable JavaScript should be checked.
Click on the “Advanced …” button and “Disable or replace context menus” should be unchecked.
If you want to prevent the Snap.com pop-ups, but you still want JavaScript enabled …
Enable JavaScript should be checked.
Click on the “Advanced …” button and “Disable or replace context menus” should be checked.
Disabling JavaScript also stops the context menu or mini-Web Pages from appearing

You may notice that when you are logged in with your user name, you no longer see some of the recent general health and fitness articles that you want in the left column. The situation is most likely to occur if there has recently been a lot of posting activity on your exercise reporting log. If you log out, this will hide your recent personal log information and show the recent public articles.

To collapse the category tree, click on the ‘MAIN PAGE’ text link at the top of the category tree.
Any open category will collapse when you click and open a different category.
When you open a category, be sure to scroll down to see all subcategories.
