Pete Frank, Holy Redeemer High School: Winning Half Court Shot in Yatesville, Pennsylvania


Pennsylvania high school basketball player Pete Frank hit a desperation half court shot at the end of the first overtime to keep his team in a playoff game. His Holy Redeemer squad would go on to win in three overtimes.

High school senior basketball player, Pete Frank, from Holy redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre scored with a half court desperation shot at a district playoff game Wednesday night. The three-pointer sent the game into double overtime. Holy Redeemer would eventually beat West Scranton 87 to 83 in three overtimes.

The half court shot had been practiced in past weeks in expectation of Wednesday’s possible scenario. Pete Frank would try to make about 10 half court shots before every practice.

Friday night 8:00 p.m. Holy Redeemer is scheduled to play Abington Heights for the District II Title at King College.

Friends and opponents will remember this shot for years.
