BICEPS BRACHII
Biceps Brachii (left arm).
ACTION: Flexes and supinates the forearm at the elbow. Assists with shoulder abduction.
REVERSED ORIGIN-INSERTION ACTION: Both heads of the biceps brachii are active during flexion of the arm at the shoulder joint, with the long head being more active.
ORIGIN: LONG HEAD: Supraglenoid tubercle of the scapula. SHORT HEAD: Apex of coracoid process of the scapula.
INSERTION: Radial tuberosity and bicipital aponeurosis.
SYNERGISTS: Brachialis, Brachioradialis, Supinator
NERVE SUPPLY: Musculocutaneus, C5,6.
