Condoleezza Rice Workout with Weights and Cardio Machines

Condoleezza Rice works out with personal trainer Tommy Tomlo, a former U.S. Marine.

In an NBC4.com news segment she’s observed doing the following at the State Department gym first thing in the morning:
Warmup on LifeCycle ‘easy spinning for about 2 minutes and then some abdominal work.
Straight Leg Calf Raises on Calf Raise Machine (with Shoulder/Trapezius Region Padded Attachment)
She’s seen doing Calf Raises as a set with slow reps followed by fast reps.
Dead Lift /Biceps Curl Combination
Squat on Smith Machine

Condoleezza tries for daily cardiac workouts, and prefers low-impact activities, like speed walking and walking hills.

She has an elliptical and a treadmill at home at her apartment that she uses for 40 or so minutes every morning. No matter where she is in the world, she gets in a workout.

As she grew up, her father, who had always been in good shape, stopped exercising. He soon had health problems after he stopped exercising. That’s what motivates Condoleezza Rice to keep exercising.

George W. Bush Rides His Mountain Bike with Lance Armstrong

President George W. Bush rode with cycling superstar Lance Armstrong on Saturday, August 20, 2005.

The seven-time Tour de France champion joined the president for a two-hour, 17-mile trek through the canyons and river-crossings of Bush’s 1,600-acre Crawford, Texas ranch. The two only rested for ten minutes during the ride.

George W. Bush, 59, took up mountain biking after a knee injury forced him to give up jogging a couple of years ago.

He’s described by his doctors in his annual physical as being in “superior” condition for a man his age.

He participates in a six-day-a-week workout regimen and showed his heart rate monitor to reporters who rode with him. The monitor showed he burned 1,493 calories in the prior 17-mile ride that also lasted two hours.

George Bush – The fittest president

Check out Barack Obama’s workout info here …

A serious runner since 1972. George Bush has a treadmill on Air Force One and uses it for hour-long jaunts on overseas trips.

In January, 1993, he finished the Houston Marathon in 3:44:52 (that’s about an 8:30 pace); he’s the only president ever to complete that distance.

Bush appeared on the cover of  Runner’s World October, 2002 In an interview interview Runner’s World, reported his normal routine is to run five or six times a week. “When I run,” he said, “I run hard. On Sundays if I’m at Camp David, I’ll go for a hard, morning run — these days about 20:30 to 20:45 for three miles on a tough course.” In June, 2002, he ran a three-mile road race in an official time of 20:29 at age 55-years-old.

Bush also mountain bikes at the Crawford, Texas, ranch, pushing hard for four-hour rides. According to AP reporter Scott Lindlaw, who rode with Bush on a mountain bike, “He (Bush) watches his heart rate very, very closely. He was reporting to me regularly what his heart rate was. … He likes to exercise in the zone.”

He believes physical training is necessary to maintain physical and emotional balance.

He even enjoys 100-plus-degree summer heat during training.

I learned that running can make you feel 10 years younger the day of the race and 10 years older the day after the race. I also learned not to be so compulsive.”

— George Bush

Injuries have reduced his running during his presidency.
